Vote Counting Begins in Some Polling Units in Abuja

Votes counting in Abuja

Counting of votes has begun in some polling units in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja after the completion of voting.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that voting ended between 1.30 p. m. and 2.30 p.m. in some of the polling units.

In Madalla, Internally Displaced Persons camp polling unit 006C in Orozo Ward, Garki, ended the exercise around 1.35 p.m.

The returning agent of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Abdullahi Atiku, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election in the unit.

According to Atiku, the officials arrived early and the accreditation and voting process started at about 8.a.m. and ended about 1.35pm

He said the process was peaceful and orderly.

Atiku however noted that some residents could not cast their votes following their inability to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs).
