On Wednesday, April 24, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen took a tour of the 25-kilometer Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road project to ascertain its level of completion and to identify possible challenges impeding its timely completion.
The Commissioner who was accompanied by some members of his Ministry, also supervised the demolition of some structures barricading the road construction.
The construction project is handled by Julius Berger and has had over 24km of it dualized, with work still ongoing on the uncompleted portion.
The Contractor assured the Works Commissioner that they would intensify work on the project to enable the government take delivery of the road on time.
The Works Commissioner and his team also moved to Oruk Anam Local Government Area where they inspected the 23.25km Ikot Ekaide-Ikot Okoro-Ikot Ibritam Road with 2 Bridges.
The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the extent of work done and assured the community of an effective and timely delivery of the project by its contractor.
