The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that Ad-hoc staff yet to receive their allowances have issues with their Bank details and should rectify them for payment.
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, April 16, in Jos, the Commission’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Osaretin Imahiyereobo, acknowledged the complaints by some ad-hoc staff and asked them to go to the commission’s office to reconcile the bank details so as to ease the payment.
Imahiyereobo noted that the affected staff and not INEC, was responsible for the delayed payment. “INEC is not at fault in this matter. The ad-hoc staff have themselves to blame because some of them did not give their correct bank account details. We are advising anyone who has not received his or her allowances to come forward to the commission to rectify his or her bank account number. Once that is done, the allowances will be received without delay”, he said.
