…vows to complete every project initiated by his administration
The Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel is set to inaugurate 35 new roads constructed by his administration to mark the end of his first term in office by May 2019.
The state Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen, broke the news to newsmen during an inspection tour of ongoing major road projects embarked on by governor Udom Emmanuel led administration across the State.
The major projects inspected include the Uyo – Etinan road, Etinan – Ndon Eyo road, Ikot Ekefre and Ikot Ebidang roads; the ongoing construction of a Jetty at Ikot Ebidang, as well as the Eket Remodeling project, all of which, the Commissioner says will be completed on time for the use by Akwa Ibom people.
The Commissioner for works who charged contractors handling the road projects in the state to intensify work in order to complete them on time, also hinted that, the Jetty at Ikot Ebidang, when completed, will enable the activation of the proposed ceramics industry in the area and attract investors who will have no difficulty in bringing in raw materials or exporting their finished products.
Inyangeyen inspected several internal roads being constructed in Eket and Esit Eket local government areas, and expressed satisfaction at the quality of work done so far. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the projects and warned that no substandard job will be accepted.
He assured that the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road project will be completed soon, restating the determination of Governor Emmanuel to complete every project initiated by his administration.
At every location of the inspection which took place at Etinan, Onna, Eket, Esit Eket and Nsit Ubium respectively, crowds of citizens trouped out to celebrate the Governor for not allowing the pressure of election campaigns distract him from working.
The Commissioner also thanked them for their steadfast love and massive support for the governor and his administration.
