The Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) is set to move to its Permanent Secretariat behind the Idongesit Nkanga State Secretariat at Atan Offot, Uyo Local Government Area, after 31 years.
Chairman of the UCCDA, Prince Enobong Uwah, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday, June 19 during the inspection of the secretariat edifice.
He noted that the structure which was completed to save the State government the cost of spending on a rented apartment, was set for inauguration.

The UCCDA boss had commendations for staff of the agency and others who were instrumental to the completion of the project, saying that it was in line with the state Governor’s vision of providing a conducive work environment for Staff of the agency.
He was appreciative of Governor Emmanuel’s support for the building project, adding that the governing Board of the Authority would have achieved nothing without the governor’s support.
He also thanked the host community – Atan Offot, for not disrupting the project up until its completion.
Prince Uwah assumed office as Chairman of the UCCDA in June 2017, expressing dismay at the agency’s operation in a rented apartment along Esuene Street in Uyo.
He then promised to facilitate the building of a permanent structure for the Authority to help the government save money.
The foundation stone laying ceremony for Phase one of the Permanent office building of the UCCDA, was performed by Governor Udom Emmanuel who was represented by the erstwhile Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning, Arc. Ime Ekpo on Friday, June 8th, 2018.
