University of Uyo Emerges 1st in Cardiothoracic 2nd African Regional Competition

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has won the 2020 African Regional Online Anatomy Competition.

The University which represented Nigeria, came first and emerged the overall best in the competition organized by the International Association of Students’ Surgical Societies, where more than 9 countries including: Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan, Zambia and Uganda took part.

UNIUYO was represented by Mr. Joseph Akpan, a 400 level Medical student and Miss Victory Etuk, a 300 level Medical student.

 Apart from bringing laurels to the University of Uyo, Joseph came first in Cardiothoracic Anatomy category international.

At the reception in honor of the award-winning students, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Enefiok Essien, SAN, congratulated them for making UNIUYO proud in the international scene, while assuring them of maximum support and encouragement from the University.
