The Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Entertainment Industry, Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom) on Monday, September 21, 2020 led members of the Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Industry Working Committee on a Courtesy Call to the Secretary to State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem.

At the meeting, the governor’s aide presented a score card of achievement in his office over the years, and briefed the government scribe on plans for the entertainment industry in the state in post COVID 19 era.

Dr Ekuwem commended Mr Sergeant and his team for the courtesy and good job. He reassured them of the commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel to deliver on his mandate for every strata of Akwa Ibom people, adding that the thousands of entertainers in Akwa Ibom would not be left out.

Dr. Emmanuel, who doubles as Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State COVID 19 Management Committee charged the entertainers to continue to stay safe as they carry out their daily activities, he warned that the opening up of leisure and economic activities did not signify the end of the Corona Virus, rather, it meant that humans must devise ways to live without contracting virus by observing all state and NCDC guidelines.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a customised T-shirt to Mr Emmanuel, with inscription of the project ‘AKWA IBOM SUPER STAR’, which has been in the kitty on the Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Desk before the outbreak of the pandemic.
