The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has approved the appointment of Mr. Iwatt Effiong, Mr. Darlington Udobong and Desmond Etim, as Chief of Staff, Special Assistant on Media and Communications, and Head of Protocol respectively.
A statement by the Speaker’s administrative secretary indicates that Mr. Iwatt Charles Effiong is an indigene of Uyo Village in Uyo Local Government Area. He is “a graduate of Marketing from Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State. He is a Chartered Member, Certified Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. He has been Special Assistant, Administration to the Deputy Majority Whip’s Office in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly between 2003 -2007. Until his appointment, he was a staff of First Bank Plc Uyo Akwa Ibom state”.
Darlington David Udobong is from Ikpa Ikot Uneke, Ibiono Ibom and “holds a BSc Degree in Mathematics from the University of Uyo, Certificate in Public Relations, Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Proficiency Certificate in Information Management. Darlington has several cognate working experience as Head Press Corps, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; Media Assistant, Office of the Deputy Governor, Akwa Ibom State; Publisher/Managing Editor of Ibom Telegraph Newspaper, and Public Relations Officer, Olgette Projects Limited”, the statement reads.
Hon. Desmond Edet Etim is an indigene of Eman Ikot Ebo in Uruan Local Government Area.
“He is a graduate of Geology from the University of Calabar. He has served as Transition Secretary, Supervisor for Education, Youths and Sports, Uruan Local Government Area. He was also Chief of Staff to Executive Chairman Uruan LGA, 2015 – 2017.
The Speaker “wishes the appointed aides well in their new assignment and hopes that they will bring their wealth of experiences to bear in carrying out assigned tasks”, the statement reads
