The seventh Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly will on Monday, June 10, be inaugurated alongside the swearing-in of elected lawmakers at the Complex of the State House.
The Inauguration follows a directive by the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on Friday, June 7, that the incoming Assembly members should be commissioned on Monday 10.
The letter which was sent to the House and read at the valedictory session of the 6th Assembly by the former Speaker, Barr Onofiok Luke, had it that the inauguration will take place by 10:00am.

The Inauguration will also witness the selection of the Speaker for the incoming Assembly.
Meanwhile, 25 lawmakers will be sworn-in against 26, as a member to represent Essien Udim State Constituency in the State Assembly is yet to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
