The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has passed the 2019 Appropriation Bill of N8.916 trillion.
The bill was passed after a consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Appropriations on the 2019 Appropriation Bill, presented by Senator Danjuma Goje, on Tuesday, April 30.
The budget estimate indicates that recurrent expenditure is pegged at N4.65 trillion, statutory transfer is N502.58 billion, while capital expenditure is N2.94 trillion, and N2.25 trillion is for the servicing of debts.
Following the report presented by Senator Goje, the bill was read the third time and passed by the lawmakers.

They also adopted the recommendation of the Appropriations Committee which proposed a N10 billion support for victims of the Zamfara State crisis.
Speaking after the passing of the budget, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, commended thanked the Lawmakers for their individual roles in ensuring the success of the event as well as the Committee on Appropriation.
He expressed hope that with the passing of the budget, the Executive will ensure its full implementation for the benefit of Nigeria.
