The Prime Minister of Britain, Theresa May, has announced the end of her three-year tenure by June 7, 2019.
She made this known in her office, on Friday, May 24, while regretting her inability to deliver Brexit.
“It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit”, she said.
The 62-year-old Conservative Party leader and second female Prime Minister of Britain, noted that she would thereafter act as a caretaker up until a replacement is elected by the party.
May became the Prime Minister after the 2016 EU referendum, and following her Party’s failed attempt to take Britain out of the European Union.
