Acting IGP Confirmed as Inspector General of Police

The Police Council at its Thursday, May 23 meeting presided by President Buhari has confirmed the Acting Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed as the new Inspector General of police.

Mohammed who succeeded Ibrahim Idris on acting capacity in January 15, 2019, is an indigene of Nasarawa State and a bachelor’s degree holder in Geography.

He got enlisted into the Police Force in February 1986, and has served as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, Commissioner of Police, Ekiti and Enugu States;  Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5 Police Headquarters, Benin, Edo State and was a Directing Staff at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, before his appointment as acting IGP.
