…Say they should be carried along in Autopsy, Investigation
The people of Eket Offiong Clan in Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state have expressed shock at the death of their son and Finance Director of NDDC, Ibanga Etang, and promised to get to the root cause of his death.
Speaking to this reporter, the Clan Head of Eket Offiong, Chief Ette Udoh Ikot, lamented that they received with shock the untimely passing away of Etang on Thursday, May 28, 2020.
While stressing that his untimely death leaves room for serious doubt, the Clan Head described the loss as one death too many, adding that they won’t let it go.
“We will liaise to ensure proper investigation, autopsy, and even traditional angle of it. Any autopsy should carry the family and the Clan along, otherwise we will not accept it’s outcome”.
He lamented that taking the remains of their late son to the COVID-19 centre for test would have probably infected him and caused his result to come out positive.
“Eket Offiong people must arise this time to investigate the source of this untimely death of a promising hope of our people”, he maintained.
He however condoled with the deceased’s immediate family and village – Idung Asan, while calling on them and the people of Eket Offiong, Esit Eket and Akwa Ibom to support their quest in knowing the cause of the death of their son.
