Gov. Makinde Give Ajimobi’s Aides 48-hour Deadline to Return Govt Vehicles

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered aides of the immediate past governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, who are yet to return government vehicles in their custody, to do so within 48 hours or risk being arrested.

This was made known by his Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka, on Wednesday, June 5.

A statement issued to the aides indicates that the government had observed that some of them were still in possession of official vehicles attached to their offices inspite of the fact that they were no longer in the service of the State.

The statement reads in part: “Consequently, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has therefore directed that all former political functionaries who are still in possession of government vehicles to return the same to Government Transport Pool within 48 hours.

“Failure to which the security agencies shall be directed to retrieve such vehicles from wherever they may be kept.”
