As Ibibios set to converge, December, 21

The Ntisong Ibibio 111, Ntisong Essien Ekidem has congratulated Ikono Local Government Chapter of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio who won the just concluded Ibibio Unity Cup competition.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, at Asan Ibibio, the Monarch expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the Ikono chapter coordinator of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, Ukai Emmanuel Ufon and thanked the LOC Chairman of the match, Ukai Samuel Udo for a job well done, while calling on other Council Chairmen to emulate Ikono Council Chairman, Mr. Itoro Columba on commitment to the course of his people.

Ntisong said the unity match competition was to enhance unity and mutual understanding among the Ibibios even as he called for a peaceful coexistence among his people.

Earlier, the Planning Committee Chairman for the forth coming Ibibio Converge, Mkpisong Tony Okpon said the winning team of the football competition will be received on the 21st of December, 2019.

He said the event which is tagged “Ibibio Converge” will also feature award presentation to Eminent personalities in Ibibio Nation, corporate organizations as well as the conferment of titles.

Okpon hinted that some prominent Akwa Ibomites will be honored and maintained that Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio encourages unity and progress among all ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom State hence,  the listing of some prominent indigenes outside Ibibio extraction who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavor as the recipients of the Akwa Esop Imaisong Excellence award.

He said Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga will be the Chairman of the Occasion, the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will be special guest of honor while His Eminence, Solomon Etuk, the Oku Ibom Ibibio will serve as the Royal Father of the day.

The Planning Committee Chairman invites all Sons and daughters of Ibibio to attend the event which will take place at Asan Ibibio on Saturday, 21st December, by 10am.
