The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has retired 11 of its senior management staff and redeployed 19 others.
The NNPC’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, made this known on Monday, May 20, in Abuja.
Ughamadu who explained that the move was a normal exercise undertaken by the corporation to fill-in gaps usually left by the retirement of some management staff, added that “such replacements are always effected before the final exit of the concerned staff” to ensure “uninterrupted operations of NNPC in achieving its mandate”.
On this note, the spokesman urged the public to discredit rumours that the corporation was relieving its staff of their duties, adding that the moves were to ensure the sustainability of the NNPC.
He gave the names of staff on statutory retirement as: Aniya Francis Umaru, General Manager, Chad Basin (retired on May 6, 2019); Adewale Solomon Ladenegan, Managing Director, KRPC (retired on May 13, 2019); Musa Sulyman Gimba, Group General Manager, NNPC Leadership Academy; (retired on May 14, 2019) among others.
