The Nigeria Media Award has nominated Jolaoluwa, who is also known as Jabulani, as the Best Radio Presenter of the Year (Radio Category).
Jolaoluwa is the Head of Programme, Sobi FM, Ilorin, and has to his credit, several series of popular programmes, including “Feli Feli”, a popular Yoruba newspaper review that played pivotal role in the “O to ge” crusade.
Disclosing his nomination in a statement, the organizer of the Nigeria Media Award, Ifeayinchukwu Alozie, said that Jolaoluwa and others were selected “based on their outstanding contributions to media profession and their creativity”.
“They were rigorously selected based on the reach of their medium, the numbers of programmes they present, public acceptability and broadcasting ethics, and how best the programmes have been serving the public interest”, he stressed.
The statement also explained that Jolaoluwa emerged the overall best from the North Central and would compete with others who have equally emerged from other five geo-political zones through voting to pick the overall award.
The event is scheduled to hold at Ikeja Airport Hotel, on September 15, 2019.
Platinum.ng gathered that asides broadcasting, Jolaoluwa runs a foundation which promotes Yoruba culture and empowers the less privileged in the society.
The Foundation is said to have executed the “So ede Yoruba si omo re” project, and renovated the statue of Reverend Ajayi Crowther in Osogun, Oyo State, to mark the death of first Yoruba man who first interpreted the Yoruba language version of the Bible.
