The new British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has promised to deliver Brexit come October 13.
Johnson said this immediately he replaced Theresa May as Prime Minister on Wednesday, July 23, at Buckingham Palace, London.
The new PM took over from May after he won the leadership of his Party – Conservative party the previous day.
Platinum.ng had reported May’s resignation a month ago.
The former Prime Minister in her office, had regretted her inability to deliver Brexit.
“It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit”, she said.
The 62-year-old Conservative Party leader and second female Prime Minister of Britain, noted that she would thereafter act as a caretaker up until a replacement is elected by the party.
May became the Prime Minister after the 2016 EU referendum and following her Party’s failed attempt to take Britain out of the European Union.
