NAFDAC Seizes 21 Containers of Spoilt Frozen Fish

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday, July 4, seized 21 containers of spoilt frozen fish at the Tincan Island SeaPort in Lagos.

Confirming the confiscation in Abuja, NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, called on consumers to be wary of harmful seafoods and fish that are detrimental to their health.

Adeyeye also confirmed the seizure of four trucks of imported bottled water from China, concealed in hair attachment cartons, and fruit juices labeled in Chinese language, at the Seme border post in Lagos.’

The NAFDAC DG assured Nigerians of the Agency’s resolve to liaise with other agencies and continue in its strides at ensuring that no harmful consumable found its way into the country.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria had banned the importation of fish into the country.
