NAFDAC Calls for Recall of Eva Water from Markets

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has called on the Asejire branch of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) in Ibadan, to recall batches of Eva Premium Table Water from markets and shops within its supply area, pending its investigations on consumers’ complaints on the product.

The Agency explained the reason for the order as being that the colour of the water changes from colourless to light green, and has presence of particles in it.

Making the call on Friday, July 5, through its verified Twitter page, NAFDAC wrote that: “The affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl was produced between 22nd and 23rd May, 2019 at Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, Asejire, Ibadan, Oyo State”.

It added that “the details of the affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl are: Eva Premium Table Water 75cl 220519.14.27 AC4 22/05/20 and Eva Premium Table Water 75cl 230519.15.15 AC4 23/05/20”.

The Agency, while maintaining that Eva Premium Table Water 75cl produced by the NBC is registered by NAFDAC, with Registration Number, 01-0492; advised “distributors, wholesalers and retailers to immediately stop the distribution and sale of the affected Eva Premium Table Water 75cl” up until further notice.
