Nasarawa: Police Arrests Food Vendor, 61 Suspects

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 62 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers.

Speaking on Monday, May 27, while parading the suspects, the Police Commissioner, Bola Longe, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended in Nasarawa and Toto Local Government Areas.

He revealed that the suspects were members of a dreaded robbery gang in the area and its surroundings, known for their deadly operations.

“Their mode of operation matches all descriptions of an organised crime where every member is assigned a particular role which he/she carries out with dexterity to the attainment of the ignoble goal of the gang, the Commissioner said.”

“The Command acted based on intelligence and deployed a combined specialised team of Operation Puff Adder in two quick successive operations”.

He also noted that one of the arrested suspects is a female food vendor in the area, who provides the gang with food and other consumables.
