Unyime Idem Hails Gov. Emmanuel’s Victory at Tribunal

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Unyime Idem has congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel on his victory at the governorship election petitions tribunal.

The lawmaker who commended the judgment of the three-man panel led by the chairman, Justice A. M. Yakubu, described it as a victory for democracy and the affirmation of the will of the people of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal constituency in particular and the entire Akwa Ibom.

While stating that the victory was expected following the overwhelming support Governor Emmanuel had in the March 9 Governorship election, Hon. Idem also congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party-PDP for remaining a party to beat in the state, as evidenced in the success of all its elected members in the elections petition tribunal.

In the spirit of the 32nd anniversary celebration of the state, the federal lawmaker called on all Akwa Ibomites to bury their grievances and join hands with Governor Udom Emmanuel to take the state to a prosperous destination, adding that no meaningful development can be achieved in the face of political distraction.

While commending the governor for his achievements through quality leadership that has brought about massive infrastructural development, job creation and economic empowerment, the lawmaker assured the governor of the continued support of the people of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal constituency throughout his tenure in office.

The Deputy House Committee Chairman on Communications also used the opportunity to congratulate the state governor and the people of Akwa Ibom on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the state creation and Nigeria on her 59th anniversary.
