The Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District wing of the Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus have condemned the assertions of what they called, “a factional youth group in the Senatorial District” last week, questioning the credibility of the 2019 general elections held in the state.
The Caucus described as devilish, the propositions by the group, aimed at denting the reputation of the Governor, Udom Emmanuel and the leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the State by the factional youth group named “Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District-Youth Coalition”.
Speaking on Thursday, May 30, at the NUJ Press Centre, Uyo, the spokesman of the Youth Caucus, Mr. Anthony Inuk, said that the factional group was neither existing nor real.
“Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District-Youth Coalition does not either exist or lack the credibility and reputation to speak for the youths of the Senatorial District”.
He called on the factional group to desist from its divisive tendencies, mischief and blackmail aimed at causing strive and disunity in the State, and rather join the throng of supporters for the Akwa Ibom good.
They passed a vote of confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel’s leadership and maintained that the elections were the most free and fair ever conducted in the history of the State.
The Youth Caucus also pledged to defend and protect the Governor’s God-given mandate to the best of their ability.
