The House of Representatives has passed a bill bringing to an end the controversial dichotomy between the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor’s Degree awarded to graduates by Nigerian Polytechnics and Universities, respectively.
The National Assembly passed the bill during the Tuesday, May 21 plenary in Abuja.
The bill which seeks to end the perceived discrimination against polytechnic graduates had its second reading in April 2017.
It also seeks to end the superiority of degree holders at work places, especially in the public service.
The bill which was sponsored by Hon. Ali Isa of Gombe State and seconded by Hon. Edward Pwajok of Plateau State.
