Udom’s Fertilizer Blending Plant: A Step in the right Direction

The Greenwell Fertiliser Blending Plant is another plus to the catalogue of achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State.  

The multi-fertilizer blending plant, the first of its kind in the South/South region of Nigeria has an annual production capacity of N400,000 metric tons, the highest in Nigeria.

Located at Oku Abak in Abak Local Government Area of the State, the plant has unequivocally heightened job and wealth creation, as well as the industrialization drive of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The plant which is operated under PPP arrangement like most other industries attracted to the state, runs with government equity share and has an added advantage of not only blending fertilizer for trees and vegetables but also on soil types to suit the crops under cultivation.

Farmers across the state who now have maximum opportunity to enhance their productivity with the fertiliser plant fully operational are happy about the high yield of their crops which will in turn boost the agricultural sector of the state economy.

The Greenwell Fertiliser plant with a distribution capacity of 6 truck-loads of Fertilizer per day, sources its raw materials both locally and internationally with Urea as one of the most important ingredients.

The plant has the capacity of blending assorted and multi-purpose fertilizer and is at the moment producing 3 highly demanded fertilizers including 20:10:10; 12:12 17 + 2mgo and 15:15:15.

Already the plant which is gearing towards expansion, to bring in animal feeds production, has economic viable value-chain opportunities for the people of Abak, the Raffia Zone and Akwa Ibom State in general.
