Gov. Emmanuel to Commission 17 Roads Saturday, May 25

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel is set to officially present 17 roads across the three senatorial districts of the state on Saturday, May 25.

The commissioning which is one of the activities in the line-up of events preceding his second term inauguration, is one of the Governor’s fulfilled promises to people of the state.

The roads include the 12.7km Awa Iman-Ikot Edim-Ikot Emem-Ukam –Ikot Ebiere Road in Onna; Lucy Bassey Street and 3 others, Frank Archibong Street and 3 others, all in Eket; as well as the Akpasak Estate extension and 8 others in Uyo.

A statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, invites the people of Akwa Ibom in their numbers to witness the events.

Meanwhile, the Saturday, May 25 environmental sanitation exercise has been declared movement-free because of the Tee-off of the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s victory golf tournament, projects commissioning and the Common Entrance Examination for military schools taking place on the same day.

A statement from the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Board, Prince Ikim, advises parents and guardians “to take their children and wards for the examination without fear of being apprehended by the Law Enforcement agents”. 

It however admonishes citizens and residents to keep their environments clean and tidy while the exercise lasts.
