The former President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan is now the Honorary Special Adviser on the Bayelsa Education Trust Fund Board.
This followed his appointment into the Board by the state Governor, Seriake Dickson, on Friday, May 24 in Yenogoa.
Dickson, at the formal launching of the trust fund noted that it was for his strides in the educational sector when he was governor, that Jonathan was appointed to oversee the collection of donations for the fund.
“With this appointment, he will sit on the board of Bayelsa state education development trust fund, as a former teacher, an educationist”, Dickson said.
He therefore called on the ex-President to attract donations to the fund, using his influence and pedigree, and expressed confidence on his ability to deliver on the task given him.
In accepting the appointment, the former President promised to live up to expectations while commending the efforts of the state government towards the betterment of education in the state.
