The Federal Government has proclaimed Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5, public holidays to mark the Eid-Fitri celebration.
Mrs. Georgina Ehuriah, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, made this known on Friday, May 31, in Abuja.
Mrs. Ehuriah who congratulated the Muslims for successfully completing the Ramadan Fast, called on them to seize the opportunity of the celebration to pray for the prosperity, stability and peace of the nation.
She announced also that security personnel have been deputized to ensure the security of lives and properties before, during and after the Eid-Fitri Celebration, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to the protection of its citizens.
While wishing Nigerians a happy Eid-Fitri celebration, the Permanent Secretary charged the celebrators to live by the virtues learnt during the Holy Month of Ramada, and be charitable towards one another.
