The Federal Government has declared Monday, November 11 a Public Holiday.
This is to commemorate the 2019 Eid-ul-Mawlud celebration, the Ministry of Interior has stated.
According to the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mr. Mohammed Manga, Eid-l-Mawlud is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

He charged the Muslim faithfuls to imbibe Prophet Muhammed’s virtues of love, courage and perseverance for peace and security in the country.
Mr Manga also conveyed the felicitations of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, whom he said enjoined the Muslims to live by the tenets of the Prophet.
“With love, commitment, self-sacrifice, patience and patriotism, we will certainly, build a greater Nigeria,” Aregbesola said, while calling on Nigerians to remain focused and determined.
The Minister restated the Government’s desire to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all Nigerians before, during and after the celebrations.
