The Executive Chairman of the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, Akwa Ibom State  Dr Dorothy Thompson has felicitated with Governor Udom Emmanuel and First Lady, Her Excellency Dr Martha Emmanuel on the 33rd anniversary celebration of the State.

The EARCOM Boss in a statement while also congratulating the great people of Akwa Ibom State called on citizens and residents to continue to pray for peace and progress of the State.

Dr Thompson, in a statement she personally signed and made available to our news men, urged Akwa Ibom people not to despair in the midst of socio-economic challenges of the COVID 19 period but rise to the faith of greatness in their God given capabilities as enshrined in the DAKKADA Creed.

The EARCOM Chairman said such challenges should be the needed elixir to bring out the best in all Akwa Ibom people to salvage the situation.

Dr Thompson, implored citizens not to lose faith in the Akwa Ibom project, believing that, thirty three is a significant number that points to a period of fulfilment of promises and completion of divine projects as espoused by Governor Emmanuel, stressing that, the light of God is shinning on the State.

She observed that, although the State has encountered so many challenges in recent times following the economic depression and COVID 19 Pandemic, Governor Emmanuel has demonstrated tenacity and proactive capacity to properly harness our human and material resources for the benefit of all citizens.

On the forthcoming October 30 Local Government elections, she prayed that politicians and their supporters play the game according to the rules, saying that, what is paramount is service to the people and support for the governor’s quest to raise socially responsible citizens as a prerequisite for sustainable development.

Dr Thompson reiterated that Akwa Ibom State is not only named after God, but is a project under God whose prosperity and all-round growth is sacrosanct.

She called on leaders at all levels as well as major stakeholders and citizens to synergize and intensify the fight against cultism, rape, gender-based violence, examination malpractice, other social vices and criminal acts across the State

She assured that EARCOM will continue to reinforce her crusade for social and ethical change and sued for support for the Commission.
