…Donates Writing Materials to Schools

The Councilor representing the people of Ward six (6), in the Ukanafun Legislative Assembly, Hon. Abasiono Isaiah Moses on Friday, March 20, kicked-off his empowerment programme to the people of his Ward as he paid a surprise visit to schools in his constituency and donated writing materials, including books, pen and pencils, rules and other writing materials.

The Councilor who stated that he is inspired by the free and compulsory education programme of Governor Udom Emmanuel noted that he has decided to give back to the electorates who sacrificed their all and elected him to represent them.

He visited African Church School, Afaha Obo Ata Essien, donated books, and other writing materials before moving to Government Primary School, Afaha Ikot Inyang and Government Primary School, Afaha Ikot Akwa all in Ukanafun LGA. The Councilor also made cash donations to the schools in support of their various projects.

In their separate speeches, the head teachers of the schools thanked Hon. Abasiono for reaching out to their schools and prayed God to elevate him higher in his political endeavors.

Notable amongst them was the head teacher of African Church School, Afaha Obo, Ata Essien, Mrs. Helen G. Ekaidem who described Hon. Abasiono as a God sent to their school at this time great attention is given to schools in the City. She promised to guide the materials given to her school jealousy, adding that her pupils will make good use of the materials for the purpose it was donated.

The empowerment proper holds on Saturday, March 21, at the ward Centre as the Councilor will be giving out items and other empowerment materials to his constituents as part of his thank you package to the Ward.
