Education Boss, Police Commissioner Move to Restore Calm in Ewet Technical College

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Nse Essien in company of the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State on Wednesday, February 19, moved to restore calm to the troubled situation in Government Technical College, Ewet owing to students’ restiveness and gross misconduct.

The Education Boss speaking at the scene decried the situation and promised stiff sanctions on anyone found culpable. The Education Commissioner said he was working assiduously to proffer a permanent solution to the perennial crisis.

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State, CP Imohimi Edgal in his reaction, declared that the Police would no more tolerate the high level of indiscipline and youthful exuberance exhibited by the students.

He promised that those arrested will be prosecuted while the underage among them will be charged to juvenile courts. He warned parents and caregivers to call their wards to order to forestall a recurrence of the ugly situation.

Security personnel were deployed to the scene to quell the upheaval and restore calm while the Education Boss and Akwa Ibom police Chief later visited those wounded in the hospital.
