The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oron Federal Constituency in the just concluded National Assembly Elections, Mr. Victor Antai has assured supporters and members of his party that victory is lying ahead for them.
He stated that “justice is not for sale” and that the “trash hurriedly thrown at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as judgement in some of the cases at the elections petition tribunals will be reversed at the appellate Court.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, September 10 in Uyo, the erstwhile Culture and Tourism Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, who also served as Commissioner in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, described Justice Ijihor’s verdict as a “miscarriage of justice”.
He reasoned that the way and manner the Benue “born PDP Justice craftily delivered the judgement” clearly portrayed her corrupt gesture for which the APC had long suspected.
Describing the ruling as a temporary setback, the former two time chairman of Mbo local government area, recently appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as Akwa Ibom Commissioner in the NDDC Board, cautioned the youths and his partymen against taking laws into their hands.
He reiterated that his petition before the Court of Appeal is with substantive evidence, believing that “as the last hope of the common man, the Nigerian Judiciary which carries the image of truth and justice”, would look at the competent appeal before it and deliver judgment that will conform to the expectations of the masses.
