Police Warns of Motorists Criminal Activities in Uyo

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has intimated the public of dubious activities perpetrated by some motorists in Uyo, the State capital.

In a release signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Odiko Macdon, the Force alerted that there were some motorists “who indiscriminately pick and drop passengers from undesignated places within Uyo metropolis, such as Itam flyover, plaza, IBB round about, etc, to Ikot Ekpene, Eket, Oron and other parts of the State, and end up robbing such passengers at some occasions”.

The Force stated that it will partner the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) as part of its crime preventive measures to ensure that all motorists load and drop passengers at designated parks.

It however advised members of the public to be vigilant and report every suspicious criminal activity to the nearest police station for prompt action.
