Gov Emmanuel Receives NIPR, Describes A’Ibom as Investors’ Haven

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has described the state as a viable investment destination for industrialists, tourism promoters and a new hub for investors.

The Governor stated this in Uyo in his welcome address to participants of a two-day Strategic/Training Workshop organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for Directors/Heads of PR Department with focus on Driving Corporate Performance Through Strategic Public Relations Management.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh, harped extensively on the enormous opportunities available in the state for potential investors.

Udoh stated that with the launch of Ibom Air, Akwa Ibom State is now one of the easiest States to access in the South-South region.

He explained that with the coming of the airline, it is no more cumbersome for potential investors and business executives to visit the state, hold business meetings and return to base same day without incurring extra cost for lodgments and accommodation.

The commissioner listed the achievements of Mr Udom Emmanuel’s administration to include the heralding of an era of industrial revolution which has gradually moved the state away from its hitherto purely civil service state status by successfully attracting about eighteen industries to the state.

Assuring the visitors that the Governor is not resting on his efforts to bring in more industries, the Commissioner pointed at the state potentials which he said are good enough to attract global investors in the agro-allied, aviation, tourism and energy sectors.

The Chairman, Planning Committee of the event, and a member of the National Governing Council of NIPR, Mrs Nkechi Ali- Balogun, (fnipr) hinted that the choice of Akwa Ibom State as the venue for the annual conference was informed by the excellence permanence of the Governor in the areas of security, environmental preservation and tourism opportunities.

Mrs Nkechi used the occasion to thank the Governor for honoring the invitation and described him as humble, simple and exemplary.

The two-day conference holding at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resorts started on Wednesday, 30th and ends on Thursday 31st October, 2019. It has as its participants the National President and Chairman NIPR, Mr Mukhtar Sirajo; his Vice, Comptroller Wale Adeniyi; Chairman Education Council Board and member Governing Council, NIPR Prof. Dan Daura, members of the planning committee and others.
