The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan has called on organizations in the State to rise up to their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
She said this on Friday, August 14, when the Heads of Zenith Bank Plc and First Bank Plc, Akwa Ibom State Branch, paid her a courtesy visit.
Dr Adiakpan who revealed government’s continuous effort to cater and improve the lives of vulnerable Children and women in the State, urged the Corporate organizations to bring on their CSRs through partnerships with the Ministry’s programmes.

She disclosed further that the menace of street children would lead to incessant criminal activities in the long run, adding that government needs to embark on aggressive evacuation and reintegration of street children by engaging them with skills.
Adiakpan who noted further that the Ministry serves as a human resource development agency, handling programmes to add value to the lives of vulnerable children and women in the state, enjoined the organizations to support the State Government in its rescue mission.
Earlier in his address, the Akwa Ibom State Regional Head, Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Asuquo Ita, and First Bank Plc Branch Manager, Mr. Martin Effiong congratulated the Commissioner on her recent appointment and wished her success in the course of her tenure in office.
They also pledged their willingness to synergize and partner the ministry through its programmes to improve and add value to the wellbeing of the entire people of Akwa Ibom State.
