The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Sir Charles Udoh, has said that the Akwa Ibom State Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) would soon be made a model suite.
The Commissioner said this while undertaking a familiarization tour of the AKBC transmitting station at Ntak Inyang facility on Thursday, July 25.
Charles Udoh noted that government’s commitment in turning around the fortunes of AKBC is documented in the second term completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

He emphasized that government was aware of the problems facing AKBC and is taking adequate steps to ameliorate the poor working conditions of the station to enable it operate as a model Broadcasting station.
Udoh reiterated that, without AKBC, Akwa Ibom State Government will not be heard and solicited the continued cooperation and support of staff to enable the activities and programmes of government go public on the state Radio and TV
The Commissioner who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Mr. Inyang Jameson and Directors in the Ministry, was received at the station by the AKBC Director General, Pstr Anietie Ukpe and Management staff of the Corporation.
The crew will also visit the Akwa Ibom Newspapers Corporation (AKNC) and the Ethical and Attitudinal Re-orientation Commission (EARCOM), on Friday, July 26.
