Governor Udom Emmanuel is a model in social responsibility programmes. He has intervened and turned around a lot of federal establishments which were hitherto in deplorable conditions.

The 84 units of two-bedroom flat housing for the Nigerian Army at the Wellington Bassey barracks, Ibagwa were renovated in the first phase of the state government’s housing intervention programme, aimed at ameliorating accommodation problems faced by army personnel in the barracks.

The governor undertook the intervention to remedy the decrepit state of infrastructure he found in the barracks while on an official function in 2018. The gesture was also in appreciation of the collaborative efforts of the army with other security agencies to combat crime for the safety of residents and investors in the state.
