Sir Charles Udoh, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Akwa Ibom State, has applauded the Akwa Ibom State Agency for Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA) for the measures taken to create wealth from wastes gathered in the state.
The Information Boss made this known in his reaction to the ongoing ‘Refuse to Riches’ Stakeholders Dialogue organised by AKSEPWMA in Uyo.
Udoh expressed delight at the ingenuity of the Agency at seeking out a means of recycling wastes at a time the government was diversifying the economy towards increased revenue generation.
Represented by the Director in charge of Ikot Ekpene Zone of the Ministry, Mrs. Grace Akpan, the State spokesman, Sir Charles Udoh congratulated the Agency for the successful hosting of the Stakeholders dialogue and wished the participants a very successful deliberation.
The event was Chaired by Professor Essien Udosen and had Dr. Kufre Essien, Mr. Samuel Akpan and Dr. J. Asuquo speaking on ‘Waste to Energy’ and ‘E-Waste to Wealth’, respectively.
The forum had in attendance the Deputy Governor of the State, Mr. Moses Ekpo, represented by the Permanent Secretary in his office, Mr. Nkopuruk Ekaiko; Sir Valentine Attah, immediate past Chairman, Local Government Service Commission; Local Government Chairpersons and the Chairman, AKSEPWA, Prince Akpan Ikim, among others.
