The 12 Local Government chairpersons suspended by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Thursday, April 18, was as a result of their absence from an official state function, Platinum.ng learnt.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the governor on electronic media, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, disclosed that the affected local government heads were temporarily laid-off for failing to attend an official and important function of the state.

He mentioned the affected local government heads to include: chairperson of Okrika, Emohua, Abua/Odual, Degema, Khana, Gokana, Ahoada East, Ikwerre, Eleme, Andoni, Omuma, and Ogu/Bolo.
