Buhari Signs Polytechnic Amendment Bill into Law

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 18, signed the Polytechnic Amendment Bill into Law.

The Bill will harmonise the tenure of Federal Polytechnic Rectors, staff retirement age and as well see to the establishment of the Governing Council for the Polytechnics and membership of the Council.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Mr. Umar Yakubu, on Tuesday, explained to newsmen that the Governing council is going to be a five-man panel, headed by a Chairman.

The amendment bill is to amend the Federal Polytechnic Act cap 17 of the laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
