Men of the Nigerian Police Force have again shot dead a young man and wounded scores of people in Ogun State.
In what could be described as an open-fire operation by eye witnesses in the Iyana Coker area of Ifo Local Government Area, the Police officers stormed the area and shot sporadically, killing the young man and injuring others.
The incident which occurred on the eve of Sunday, April 21, triggered a protest from youths of the area against the Police brutality on the deceased whose name was given as Akeem.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has acknowledged the incident. He said the Police officers who killed Akeem are from Zonal Intervention Squad, “but I have ordered that they should be arrested in Ifo and brought to Abeokuta for disciplinary action”.
