In the spirit of the Easter celebration, the Uruan Local Government Area Coordinator of the Divine Mandate Organization, Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, gathered members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his Uyo residence on Monday, April 22, to commemorate the season and to also appreciate them for standing by the Party before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
Setting the tone for the event, Prince Ntuk Udeh pointed out that the event is in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s resolve to play a politics of inclusion which has provided a large umbrella to accommodate everyone as far as politics in Akwa Ibom State is concerned.
Ntuk Udeh who is also the chairman, Akwa Ibom State Roads and Other Infrastructure Maintenance Agency (AKROIMA) thanked God for His love for mankind. He appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel for his benevolence in reaching out to indigenes of Uruan Local Government Area who were victims of electoral violence in the 2019 general elections and prayed God’s blessings and wisdom on the Governor to take Akwa Ibom State to an enviable height.
Speaking also at the event, the political leader of Uruan, Obong Ekpe Atakpo thanked the people of Uruan for their spirit of unity which he said was the primary factor for victory at the polls. The member representing Uruan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Aniekan Bassey appreciated the people for fighting the course of victory for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election and promised to give effective representation and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Dr. (Mrs.) Itoro Etim thanked the men for giving Uruan women a sense of security during the elections; the gesture she noted, provided the confidence for women to vote in their respective polling units and also waited for their votes to count. She sued for women inclusion in the scheme of things in Uruan political arena.
Other stakeholders of the PDP in Uruan LGA including Mr. Okon Okon – Chairman Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Henry Isaiah – Chairman Uruan Local Government Council as well as the Chapter chairman of the PDP in Uruan, Mr. Obot Essien appreciated the people for their oneness, they appreciated Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh for opening a new chapter of team work in Uruan, thus giving every citizen of the area the sense of belonging and the spirit of hardwork. The stakeholders prayed God to bless Prince Ntuk Udeh for bringing unity to Uruan people.
Ntuk Udeh distributed gifts items including mobile phones, umbrellas, exercise books, fez caps, clothings, etc. to the people.
