…It will be used as car park – church member
Reports reaching Platinum.ng has shown that the Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Mr. Nsima Ekere, has sold his massive campaign ground along Edet Akpan Avenue to a renowned clergy, Rev. Uma Ukpai.
This, according to our source, is aimed at funding his tribunal court case and has further shrinked the hope and morale of the candidate’s followers.
A source from the APC who pleaded anonymity disclosed that Ekere went bankrupt after the elections as a result of being misled and defrauded by some APC stakeholders and selected youths who diverted his resources and money for their personal interests and projects.
Platinum.ng also gathered that Ekere, out of frustration, resorted to heeding the advice of an APC Bishop, Josephine Eggar, to sell-of his campaign grounds in order to raise money for the pursuance of his tribunal case.
Subsequently, the governorship candidate engaged the services of estate valuers to sell off the campaign ground which our source says has already been taken over by grasses.
Information gathered by this reporter has it that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had placed a bid on the property to the valuers through their lawyers but Ekere had refused and rather, opted for Evangelist Ukpai who placed the bid at 800 million naira.
It would be recalled that Nsima Ekere was defeated at the governorship polls and has refused to accept defeat. Our source maintained that the APC stakeholders are bent on finishing him financially and making him go bankrupt by pushing him to court so that they can have a continuous flow of income through his refusal to accept defeat, after which they will congratulate the governor and cooperate with him in building a better State for the future of everyone.
Meanwhile, a member of Uma Ukpai’s church who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the church bought the campaign ground to convert it to a parking space. He stated that the church has been facing the challenge of traffic management due to the near-zero parking space the church has, often resulting in heavy traffic along Edet Akpan Avenue during service sessions.
Recall that the same Nsima Ekere resigned from being the NDDC boss to contest for the governorship seat; a position rumoured to have been given to Senator Godswill Akpabio by President Buhari.
