Nigeria’s music stars, Banky W, Teni and others have been selected to perform at the first-ever prom concert for secondary school leavers in Nigeria.
The event “AfroProm” will hold in July 14, 2019, at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos.
Manager of the event, Mobola Abiru, told newsmen that the event is aimed at giving Nigerian students a home prom experience, while enabling them meet and party with Nigeria’s top-rated celebrities.

“We created Afroprom, Nigeria’s first-ever prom concert for high school graduates between the ages of 14-18 with an eye on getting these teens to celebrate a remarkable achievement at a crucial stage of their lives. Prom is not new to them, they see it happen everywhere else but not in Nigeria. This spurred us to create an avenue that will welcome them into adult life. He averred”
Mr. Abiru noted that inspirational and motivational talks bothering on “next steps after school” will be handled by Banky W and mediapreneur, Debola Williams, as well as a testimonial of how they rose to fame.
“Guests will be treated to performances fit for the occasion by Mavin’s new signee, Rema; Teni, Donflex and the Extigate team, Dream Catchers; while Ushbebe, Ikorodu Bois and other comedians are expected to thrill the guest as well. Other side attractions include a rare five-course meal and a shot at the highly coveted Afroprom King & Queen crowns”, he revealed.
“Tickets for the event will be hosted by ace OAP Jimmy, and are sold for N20, 000 and guests stand a chance to win gifts such as an iPhone XR, PlayStation 4, and lots more”, Abiru said.
