Nigerians received with shock the death of Funke Olakunrin, second daughter to an elder statesman, Reuben Fasoranti and leader of Afenifere, a socio-cultural organization, on Friday, July 12.

Mrs Olakunrin who was travelling from Akure to Ore was reportedly killed by Fulani herdsmen who emerged from the bush, shot and killed her.

Olakunrin’s death has since sparked fury from Nigeria’s political class, citizens and groups who have taken to social media to condemn the heinous act while calling for immediate clampdown of the perpetrators.
