Xenophobia: 319 Nigerians expected back today

Nigerians in South Africa numbering 319 are expected back in the country today Tuesday, September 17.

Speaking on Monday, September 16, Chairperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa, said that the returnees were to be conveyed by Air Peace.

Mrs Dabiri said this while giving an update on the voluntary evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa.

She noted that the returnees were being profiled based on their states, adding that the state governments will take responsibility of their citizens on their return.

While stressing that none of the returnees are criminals, Mrs Arewa hinted that conversations were ongoing with the Bank of Industry to get the returnees soft loans.

Platinum.ng gathered that Ogun State has the highest number of returnees numbering 30, so far.
