Members of the 9th House of Representatives met on Thursday, June 13, for the first time after their inauguration on Tuesday, June 11.
At the sitting, one of members who was absent at the swearing-in, Musa Sarki-Adar (Sokoto), was sworn-in by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Prior to the swearing-in, the microphone attached to the seat of the Speaker malfactioned thus, delaying the swearing-in for a couple of minutes.

The Speaker then directed the clerk to delegate the responsibility of accessing the sound system’s workability before commencing every plenary, to staff members of the Assembly.
A motion on the need to combat erosion and floods in Bande Federal Constituency of Abia State was moved by the member representing Abia state constituency, Benjamin Kalu, while Muraina Ajibola of Oyo State(PDP-Oyo) moved a motion on the need to curtail the killings and kidnappings across country.
Following the unanimous vote by members in favour of the motions, the Speaker ruled that the resolutions be forwarded to relevant agencies for implementation.
