Gov Emmanuel Commissions QIC Township Event Hall

It was an epochal and glorious day at Qua Iboe Church, Uyo Township as the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel commissioned the ultra-modern event Hall of the church, equipped in memory of his late mother, Deaconess Emily Gabriel Nkannang.

Represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Rev. Daniel Akwatang, the Governor expressed delight at the visionary leadership of the church led by the Chairman, Elder (Barr) Udo J Asamudo, in its creative and judicious utilisation of funds donated for the project, at record time.

Governor Emmanuel expressed delight that his late mother, Deaconess Emily Nkannang, a former Women Fellowship President of QIC, has been immortalised, and charged mothers to take up their motherly roles in earnest, adding that the upbringing of children rests majorly on their shoulders.

He solicited their continuous prayers and support, reiterating that, the church has a major part to play in successful governance.

The General Superintendent and Chairman of QIC Worldwide, Rev Ekpedeme Moffat Efanga who expressed gratitude to the Governor for equipping the Event Hall, prayed that, all activities and programmes organised in the hall will experience miraculous breakthroughs and successes.

Welcoming the Governor and other dignitaries to the event, the Church Chairman, Elder Udo J Asamudo thanked the Governor for his donation which facilitated the completion of the Hall. He listed the components of the hall to include: six 3hp standing Air-conditioners, four 1.5hp hanging Air-conditioners as well as Public Address System and accessories.

Others are: 600 Special Banquet seats, 10 High Table Chairs, 5 Banquet/Conference tables, Raised platform, Lectern, CCTV with projector, three 32″ LED TV screens; Drapes (wall to wall), a furnished Conference room for 20 persons as well as a red carpet for the platform and walk way.

Elder (Barr) Udo J Asamudo, himself a Trustee of QIC Worldwide, used the occasion to express gratitude to the Governor for his magnanimity to the church in particular and for the re-construction work done at Samuel Bill Theological College in Abak.

On his part, the Vice Chairman of QIC Uyo Township, Elder (Engr) Eno Ekpoh expressed thanks to all who contributed towards the success of the day’s event especially the past Inter-governmental Sub-committee of the church led by Elder Dr. Ifreke Ekpa whom he said liaised effectively with government to see to the completion of the event Hall.

In his homily at the occasion, the Minister-in-charge of the congregation, Rev. Iniobong Ekong urged Christians to cultivate a friendly relationship with God.

With the theme “The Relationship that makes all things well with you”, Rev. Ekong, who dealt on hindrances to friendship with God, virtues of good friendship and benefits of friendship with God listed some virtues that cements friendship with God to include: sincerity, obedience, reliability, truthfulness, good communication, trustworthiness, among others.

The Service was attended by the church Pastors, Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses, Choir groups and QIC faithful across the state.
