Mike Enyong doles out N1m to 8 constituents, empowers 252 women

*Vows to turn 300 constituents to millionaires in 2020

*Poised to eradicate poverty in Constituency

In fulfilment of his campaign promises to raise the standard of living of the people and alleviate poverty through financial empowerment of constituents, the member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Michael Enyong have doled out the sum of N1 million to eight constituents drawn from Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan.

The Federal Lawmaker further handed over grants to over 252 women from the Federal Constituency to help boost their businesses and cater for their needs.

Enyong presented the cheques and cash gifts to his people, today, during an Empowerment Programme organized by the Federal Constituency in Collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission at Uranus Hotel, Uyo.

Enyong, who thanked the people for their unwavering belief in his capacity to birth the dividends of democracy in the Constituency and ensure the speedy growth and development of the area through effective representation, stressed that he is committed to ejecting poverty out of the Constituency.

Noting that the presentation of cheques and cash gifts was one of the numerous ways he is initiating to reach out to all the constituents in order to better their lives, Enyong urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously and also establish as well as sustain their businesses.

The Federal Lawmaker vowed to turn 300 Constituents to millionaires before end of 2020.

Hear him, “Quote me, I will turn 300 of my constituents to milionaires in 2020. What will I stand to achieve if my people do not see and touch the dividends of democracy. That is why I was elected. I don’t want to see my people beg for anything, that’s why I was sent to represent them.”

He said the provision and sustainability of pensionable jobs to the people remain one of his core mandates which he will continuously deliver on.

The Uyo born politician cum philantropist reassured the people that he will not disappoint them and will at all times live up to expectations, maintaining that the era of poverty is dead and gone in the area.

He lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for working his guts out to ensure employment, food sufficiency, constant power, quality education, love and peace in Akwa Ibom.

He further condemned the act of cultism, bloodletting, and other vices inimical to the progress and development of the State, advising the youths to shun violence and embrace entrepreneurship and peace, which he said is the bedrock of financial growth and way to eradicate poverty.
